KINETIC SAND

I always wanted to make a review for my blog. Something relevant other than my daily ramblings. So here it is my very first review.

August is my only son's birth month so it is also that time of the month when we spent hours and hours of our spare time at the mall looking for his favorite stuff to be added to his so called wish list.
This years list wasn't that long compared to the other birthdays he had. He was very specific on what he wants. I wanted to buy him something that he really enjoyed.

We were at Toy's R Us when we stumbled upon a demo of Kinetic Sand. A lot of kids were playing with them at the time I was hesitant for him to touch it since he has allergic rhinitis. So I touched the sand first before I gave him the go signal. It is very hard to describe the consistency and texture of the sand you know its sand but its different it is powdery but not dusty, smooth yet moldable. He spent like an hour playing with it. I wouldn't deny the fact that me and my hubby enjoyed playing with it too.

Kinetic Sand 907g for P799
So I decided to get him one box it costs P799 for 907grams of kinetic sand.  It wasn't cheap at all at the back of my head I was like thinking this darn sand is expensive how many things can he mold with 907 grams? Turns out that much of sand is perfectly fine. He was able to play with it using his clay molds. He loves it a lot. I love playing with them too.

The kinetic sand is made of 98% sand and 2%silly putty. It is 100% safe wheat, guten and casein free. The sand never dries out and it cleans up easily. The only problem is its sensitivity to humidity. It does get a little more stickier when its humid and if you are pasmado sand will stick on your hands. it is also a good alternative to clay because clays dried out easily.

I always keep my eye out for new products such as these on the market. As a future OT these materials can be used for therapy sensory play, fine motor movement etc. so testing these products myself would be a great reference.

There are many similar sand products in the market that I know of there are Motion Sand and Moon clay these are  cheaper versions of the sand since they use other chemical based ingredients.

I highly reccomend this product it is fun enjoyable and safe activity that kids and kids at heart could enjoy.

It's been a long time. I totally forgot about this blog. 2011 since my last post now it's the year 2015. A lot has happened in those 3 yrs, moving to the provinces, changing cities.  The highlight would probably my going back to college for a year! Yep I did. It was FUN. I was working my ass off balancing family time and studies. It was also hard but I was so inspired that Im not giving up that easily. But recent events have happened and right now I didnt't enroll back. My husbands going out of the country for work and I dont have a helper to stay with my kid and ny dogs. So back to being a SAHM for now. When the time comes that everything is settled, I will finish my degree in Occupational Therapy. No matter how old I get I will get that diploma.

Gapped tooth!

NOO! My son's two front teeth cracked again! We had a trouble getting them fixed before cause he got traumatized. Now I keep on explaining that he couldn't go to school if his teeth aren't fixed. I told him mom and dad are going to have pasta fillings also like him so he shouldn't be afraid. AHHH! I just wish we won't go thru the same process again!!!!! Now I'm busy looking for the best pedia dentist for him one who can handle him well.

Oh Goodluck!

This is IT!

OOH. I missed having to say your thoughts and just typing away on the keyboard. Making a blog will definitely make my life a bit more exciting having to share life's gushes to everyone will certainly put off the load.

Let me begin with my current state of life. Being a stay at home mom is hard I'm still practically learning. I know nothing of household chores even after I had my son. Well of course I didn't expect it would be backbreaking. I'm just marveled on how my mom managed to raise all four of us juggling with her job. I am only in charge with one little boy and still it requires so much physical and mental effort.

The best and the the most rewarding part is to just wake up everyday to see how your little one grow. The fast paced transitions that you wouldn't want to miss. The first smile to his laughs from that day he called you mama to his first steps. They're most precious memories and I witnessed each and every single one. No matter how hard this job is. I wouldn't replace it for anything in the world.
